I found the site very interesting and full of information, but couldn´t find an answer for my problem.

I have just bought a Pioneer 383-s DVD player and cannot run XVID movies. When I navigate through the Divx Player, it shows me only Divx .avi file but non of the xvid . avi files.

Here´s an example maybe is the name of the file but happens with all of them.

Sympathy.for.Mr.Vengeance.2001.DVDrip.XviD.AC3.CD1-TRiCK.avi

And what happens when you try to play such file?
Examine the file with Avicheck (get it from Download section or somewhere on internet) or similiar diagnostic application and paste results here.

Try to give the same name as you have pasted here to divx.avi file. I thing the file name is too long. And the question is which FW you use Gufiak's or original one?

Certainly the problem is the name of the file. I tried burning it with a shorter name and worked out. I´m using Gukiak´s firmware version 01.09.03.00. Maybe this is something that can be added to future versions.

I do not remember exactly, but the file name length is limited up to 44 signs (I guess ). The filename you hade a problem with, is 60.
