Maybe it looks suspicious, but I download this firmware directly from FLASH-ROM, installed on new and completely work DV-585A.
After downloading I create Update CD with MTKRemaker and succesfully update firmware (which were 1.09) onto my preowned, home DVD. And it's work I can also share here binary image of that Flash-ROM...

P.S. Ow... I almost forgot - In DV-380 & DV-585 FlashROM hardwired in 8 bit mode. So exploring those firmware in 16 bit mode can issue unexpected errors or glithes ^_-

NoWorries, this firmware is ok. MTKRemaker has some problems with reading versions in new pioneer players.

I saw that it said 'DV-585A v.YAE5C16A Region Free Flash.rar', is it a original region free firmware? or was it just take it from a region free player?

That firmware were downloaded from region free DVD... If I'm not mistaken - Pioneer not produced Region Free players 'cause that's broke copyright law.
Firmware is originally region 5, and shipping for sale in Russia.
Although I know region setting stored in EEPROM, which placed nearby MT1389 chip.

Yes, region information is stored in eeprom, not in firmware. So player with this firmware will keep its original region setting before update.

Ashen, do you know anyone that could download eeprom memory from dv-585? Having it would help a lot to unlock playing SACD and DVD-Audio in dv-380.

If you can wait a bit I can upload EEPROM binary somewhere and link it here.
But - even if you find difference and enable SACD/DVD-Audio playback....
Those discs mostly not supported downmixing. What mean - only 2 channel will be outputed, and other 4 - miss.
Or you want to add 2 DAC's and other circuit's

P.S. By the way - that EEPROM will be stored with removed region detection.....

The most importent thing for now is to find an easy way to unlock playing those discs The other inconviniences is to be solved, too. Later
EEPROM is needed just to learn how fw comunicates with it according to playing SACD and DVD-Audio. So, region is not importent at all:)
