hi
I just bought a DV-220v UK Region 2 model (Serial no begins 579...)
It has firmware YKD0326A.
Has anyone tried installing the StM v1.0 firmware for an early DV-220v, onto a more recently manufactured DV-220v ? |

As the firmware names are simliare, it starts with YKD, it should be no problem.
Do you think you could save the firmware from you player? |

It is something I may attempt at a later date after studying the Dead Player page on Pioneerfaq.info.
I have an old DV-393 and a Siemens C25 mobile phone cable to experiement. |

When you have retrived it from the player you can send it to me at:
If you have problems building the cable, I do have cables I can send out! |

Thanks for your help during the past few days.
I was finally able the extract the firmware from my DV-220v player.
The Siemens cable did not work too well, so I built a new serial cable.
It took 60 minutes to extract the firmware from the 2Mb serial flash chip.
My DV-220v is now Region Free thanks to the mod you made to the extracted firmware. |
