Hello,

I have a problem playing one of the AVIs I have burned in DVD-R as it keeps stuck with the "PLAY" message and I could not do anything (stop and other keys don't work) except opening the tray and close it again to reload the disc.

The problem is that only this particular AVI out of the 5 in the DVD-R doesn't play, and I have burned them with another DVD-R but with the same result. I can however play the AVI of both DVD-R in my computer.

Strangely, when I burned that 1 AVI only in a CD-R, it plays.

Any idea what is happening here?

Use MPEG4Modifier to check for errors, or/and avi datas.

I unpacked bitstream for the AVI but the problem still persists. Other AVIs are also packed bitstream but they play well. All 3 DVDs I have burned gave the exact same problem.

On the other hand, could this be a conflict of long filename? To clarify my situation, the movie's filename is actually quite long and there are two files in the folder (2 parts of the movie, of which I named the files moviename part1.avi and moviename part2.avi.) However, the part2 file plays well.

As I am quite reluctant to waste another new DVD-R for a file that could play well in my computer, what do you all think is the problem?

Not enough info about avi. This may be some missing sprite paths, or audio heder missing or damaged, or GMC, or QPEL encoded. I had the same problem with some movie (The Shaolin Temple) second part is playing fine, first one makes problems. I reencoded splited audio and video, itselfs and now it works fine.
