It looks like DV-585 with some extra features and maybe firmware for this player will work but I'm not 100% sure. |

DV-585 and DV-595 is different.
I'll mean not only front panel and design.
MT chip installed in new model bit different - it's supported HDMI output.
There's only one problem - I haven't yet got that device for repairing. So I can't tell entirely sure 'bout changes in firmware. But RAM and Flash ROM still the same size and type.
O_o... And there is NO service manual yet for that model....
DV-393, DV-490 and even DV-696 stored in my collection. But DV-595 not published yet on Pioneer Service site..... |

This "DV-696AV-S" is a mistake but maybe this is a player with almost identical hardware. Probably DV-595 is a DV-696 for an asian market with karaoke added. |

I have DV-595K-s too. And I think that this player is the same as 393 with added karaoke function. Moreover, the manual is common for 3 models - 595, 490, 393.
My porblem:
When I leaf in FileBrowser mp3 files with russian characters in filename, these characters showed as any unreadable symbols. But all other russian words in menu, subtitles etc reading normally.
How I can to solve this problem.

Manual is the same but players are different. Maybe FW from 490 would fit, but you can try it only on your own risk. 393 and 490 firmwares are different for sure. |

Do you think that 595 is more similar to 490 than 393??
As I know the same problem with russian filenames exists in 490 (somebody wrote about it in russian forum on forum.ixbt.com)
Where I can get original FW from 595 or how to backup it from my player?? |

I'm not sure. But 393 is different form 490 so I think that it is different form 595 too.
What FW version do you have on your player?
Home Menu->Initial settings->go to Options and press DISPLAY
If you want extract FW from your player, you need such cable:
http://www.md7457.webpark.pl/schemat.pdf
Then you connect player to PC and run MTKTool (for example from Download section). You can also convert some mobile cable. |

Example firmware filenames:
for 490 is Y1B001160
for 696 is YDC6628
and you report for 595 is YDA6525A.
I think that FW for 696 will fit. 99%. If you are a little familiar with soldering and electronic, try to build cable, extract an original FW and try to put 696 FW into your player (you must only change filename a little  ). If you like to risk, you can try to put FW form 696 without extracting an original.  |

Before do it I must know that 696 has not the same problem and working properly.  |
