Dinderi, I see you have copied the last 6 characters of the fonts in the first 6 positions also. Something new??

Your font CP1251 font is also missing some outlines of some characters, and has some improper spacing, which makes text look a bit strange. I could send ya a 30px condensed font if you wish to include it.

I used fonts CP1253 that can not realy remember the origin

I made them long time ago. So can say now why spaceing looks wierd. Those missing part of outline, probably is because the fonts were specialy shrinked. As its wide has to be devided by 4, yoo shrink font maximaly, sometimes part of outline is cut. This usualy makes no difference when you watch the movie.
If your font works good I do not mind to exchange them in fw

Those extra chars at the begining of a table are because I used Special Code Page instead of Windows Code Page.

Hmmm, I haven't taken into account that the character width has to be a multiple of 4, but it DOES work OK. What consequences should that have?? As for now, I have only shrinked the cyrillic part of the font, I'll finish it these days and send it to you.

Pioneer does NOT reqrie multiple of 4, but many other DVDs do.

instead of shrinking i prefer to enlarge (simple resize of bmp) - it looks better (after manually fixing some pixels)

Pioneer "works" when font character width is multiple of 4, but this also introduce an undesirable choppines/jerkiness in movies when subtitles appear on the screen. It's common bug for Pioneer players, maybe even for every player on MTK 1389 sadly.

Never seen such side effect when using a font with widths not multiple of 4. Only some xVid movies are played choppy, but that's regardles of the subtitles (turning them off doesn't help). I think it's because of the packed bitstream, haven't looked at how those movies were encoded.

No, it`s difinitely not a problem with a PB. PB is much worse, and choppiness lasts all the time when movie is played.

BTW. I don`t have movies with PB right now ( "thanks" to PB Pioneer bug / modified most of them earlier :-)

Problem with "incorrect" font size looks much different, it`s certainly more subtle and you must pay close attention to it.

Gufiak even modified some earlier fw for only this reason. He forgot change this aspect ratio for the fonts and small discussion here ( in polish section) erupts. He changed it later, that eliminate the bug of course :lol:

I saw this problem very clearly many times, making some tests on new fonts. Wrong wide fonts causes stacking, everytime new line of text apears. It looks totaly different then PB. Movie with PB stacks periodicaly in steady intervals.

Yes, robert7. If width of font is multipled by 4, there is no such stucking any more.

I think found bug in dinderi v.2.0 firmware.
When panscan is selected some of my dvd video disc not show subtitles. When letterbox selected subtitles shows correctly.
Dinderi, your firmware is much better than original one. Can you tell me is it possible to make pan scan working for divx files??

tkoucinauci, are you sure that on original FW there was no such effect (subtitles and panscan)? I bet, Dinderi didn't work on panscan at all.

Dinderi worked a bit on Pan&Scan

There is a patch for enabeling Pan&Scan for all DVDs, in this FW.

gufiak no, that is not original DVD disc. I'm tested about 10 Dvd Video disc and on 4 of them subtitle not shown when use panscan. I don't know which tool is used because I'm not encoded this movies. With original firmware on this disc panscan didn't working at all. Dinderi correct that and now movie looks fine.
I'm tested same DVD-s on LG 9900 DVX and worked fine (with panscan).
