Hi all!!

just received the DV-490-S player.
Firmware version not 1.16 but 1.86. Will try to download it tomorrow.

Please, I need some info about:
1. Does the FIRMWARE itself process any parts of sound/video streams, or just controls the ICs which process them??
2. Is it possible to manage EEPROM data (including area code and etc.) from modified firmware??

i trying to decompile the firmware 1.16 with IDA and scripts. Does anyone have experience in this area??

souzz, your plan to extract 1.86 is one of the best idea, I heard here for last few months An of your help would worth more then million, as Gufiak is so bussy with his studies, that have no time to modificate. Only partially. Most of the job is done by the hardware decoders.

i got 490v yesterday. i tried dinderi's firmware and it is not bad. it would be even better if he could use bigger fonts in subtitles and move them a little from the bottom. also it wouldn' be bad to leave English in modified fw.
