I have one 696 with YDC6915A.
Shoud I update it with modified fw from download section, or better save original one first

Yes, if you know how to do that, please do it. The only fw extracted now is Y6B01160 aka Y6C01160.
And next time, please write only in English section.

This is YDC6915A firmware extracted from my DV-696.
ver 05.00.01.16
sub 00.00.00.01
8232 05.00.01.16
servo C8.10.00.00
RISC 05.00.02.02
DSP 03.09.01.23
File Y*C*****.BIN

I renamed it after the ver.1.16 (think it's OK)
What's new in this fw?? Is it better than the one in download section??
Obs. it has 2Mb?? is it normal?? or a backup error??

Attention! Please do not use firmware attached to this post, to burn an upgrade CD. This is raw, extracted fw not usable for CD upgrading. To upgrade, please use fw that is in download section.

It's not necessary. It's different version, so filename should be different too. And as you can see, your filename will fit to the wildcard stored in ROM.

Yes, it's normal. ROM has 2MB and MTKTool gest all the content. It doesn't cut zeroes on the end of ROM.

So, if I name the file no matter like Y*C*****.BIN will work ::

Hi,everybody!!I've already tried those latest FW,but I can't see any differences between them and old ones. Except for strange person in the background.And Russian OSD is not perfect.I'm looking forward to a FW with features like in 2.10.06 for 575.

Hi again, i just updade the fw of 696 with all latest fw for greek subtitles on divx but
nothing hapents only displays the subtitles when it's in the movie, file when i play (srt) - external subtitle files - no subtitles at all can anyone help me with this??

constandine, you may have different file names. And describe exactly, how folders look on disc, how you burn the disc (multi, single-session?)
