   Model odtwarzacza: DV-696AV-K

Hi guys,

I tried to connect my brand new DV-696AV to a computer LCD monitor (Viewsonic 20") using a HDMI-DVI cable. I got a nice pink screen during 5 seconds, then no image at all.

Using the same HDMI-DVI cable I connect a Samsung digital TV receiver to the Viewsonic monitor, everything works fine.

I guess the problem is coming from the HDCP protection system. Do you know if a firmware upgrade would be able to remove this fucking HDCP ?? Any other idea to make it work ??
I'm sure that I'm not the only one to try to connect the DVD player to a PC monitor.

Thanks for your help,

NRX

Yes your right it is the HDCP protection that is bugging you.

As faar as for now there is no way to remove it.

Well... Probably there is a way to disable HDCP (some players has this option in the menu, but hidden and I've found exact the same code in pioneer firmwares as used in those players to disable HDCP), but I have completely no time to check if this mod will work. It's not easy to add this option because of lack of one subroutine.

Model odtwarzacza: what the hell is "Model odtwarzacza"

HDMI is suposed to support monitors without HDCP but with a limited resolution. i guess pioneer has forgot about this feature

nrx, check this firmware. It's the newest available firmware (YDC6915A) without any modifications except HDCP disabled (probably). There are no new menu options, it should start already with the HDCP disabled.

cleanerbg, thanks for info. I'll check this mod, maybe I've made a mistake while modding or HDCP is somehow locked in some other place in the code.

gufiak i wanted to ask you if there is a way to constantly activate the HDMI output of the player, because most of my DVD are not protected and may be the problem is not only in HDCP protection
