I wouldn't mind trying that if I knew how to do it, or where to go for instructions. I use linux. I downloaded the latest firmware and I think the fonts maybe a little bigger. However, still hard to see on black and white film or white scenery. Perhaps a choice of a black or dark grey stripe would be a good idea for these times. Not that it matters a lot but the volume option on 1 and 4 key don't work.

Hi!!
Is it possible to change the firmware of DV-696AV so it can read subtittles with a diferent name of the movie file?? (like In Yamada Firmwares from New Age)

This will be in next version! It will be the solution of if there is not a subtitle file with the same name as movie in folder it will load all subtitle files thats in the folder!
When it will be released I cant say for the moment!! |

One question i got: Will the next fw for dv696 have The wordrap function, as well the chance to modify font size? Will it be released soon?

It's been more than 4 months from the last update....
In the meanwhile there is a new series out from pioneer...
I'm afraid there is no one interested in wasting time to make innovations for the 696 any more.
Please let us know if there is moving something around a new release or what we can expect in the future...
