Is it safe to upgrade DV-696 FW YDC6915A with Hakan 5.0?

Hi, I have a Pioneer DV-696 with factory firmware YDC6915A. I've been reading reports (e.g. this thread) that people have reported HDMI handshaking problems after upgrading.
Has anyone tried to upgrade from stock firmware YDC6915A to Hakan 5.0 and tested whether HDMI is working?
I have recently bought a DV 696 and upgraded to Hakan software and experienced no problems with HDMI output. I can change the resolution of HDMI and it works all right.

YES. I have tried with last HAKAN firmware and had THE TROUBLE with HDMI. I had to retry again and I Am using last original PIONEER FIRMWARE.
I never had any trouble with firmware except this one, so this is not because the player is faulty. I think THIS FIRMWARE IS WRONG. I HOPE HAKAN WILL FIX IT.

I dont have any problems with this firmware!!
It's installed and tested on my own DV-696AV and I'm using HDMI as only connection to my Pioneer PDP-427XD, everything works just great!!
