I doubt the firmware: original or modified, big enough to contain Chinese fonts for divx subtitles.
It only manage to contain certain amount characters simply for OSD only.
However, if firmware experts can solve Chinese fonts problem for divx subtitles, it will be greatest news for me.

AFAIK, Pioneer can have only a Chinese OSD. I haven't seen in subtitle routines any code that could work with multibyte text (and AFAIK Chinese text even in subtitle files is always multibyte). But if you upload or share a link to any chinese subtitle file I'll take a look and I'll tell you for sure if there is a support for such subtitles and if no - if it's possible to add this support.
