This is getting to be a real pain.
I bought the DV-400 from a vendor on a site claiming to be region free
I have a few region 2 DVDs I want to play
When I got the DVD player it is only region 1.
I was able to hack an older player, so I thought I would try it
I found instructions on using Nero Rom to make CD. I downloaded the YGB7821A.BIN
and created a CD. I inserted in the DVD, it said loading, hit play and the firmware was loaded. All went according to instructions, but then when I tried my region 2 DVD it still said only region 1 (I tried pressing ENTER - but that not work either.) ARGGGGH
OK - I had downloaded another newer firmware YGB8827A, the CD process worked the
same, the firmware loaded ... then the DVD player shutoff.
I cannot get the DVD player to even turn on. I know "Use firmwares at your own risk" ...
This may just be a $60 waste of money
Is there any way I can get the DVD player back to a working firmware?
Do I need to send back to Vendor or Pioneer?

Is there any DVD player out there which can play (or easily hacked to play) region 2 DVDs?
That is all I really want
Any advice would be appreciated - TOMG -
