Hi Dinderi

I must admit, I registered on your website for downloading the Pioneer DV-400 firmware, I needed to convert it to multiregion (I moved from France to US and all my DVDs are region 2).

First of all, thank you for this mod I must now change the player langage to english or french.

I wanted to warn that after I burned the first CD it didn't work. I tried to understand why because I followed all instructions for the CD format. It appears that the firmware name that you deliver to us has a lower case caracters extension ".bin", it must be ".BIN", with upper case caracters. It only cost me 1 CD, but you might have many questions about this issue

How can you change english to france??
There is no english language version of the DV400 mod

Why did they remove english??

The firmware in Download section is prepared to be used for Polish. That is why English was removed and put Polish instead. You may replace Polish using MTKRemaker. Save English Language Part from Original firmware and replace it in modded one

I have now the subtitles on the top of the screen. How could that happen Did you change something in the firmware about this

lurk01, Open original FW for dv-400 with MTKRemaker and save English part. Now open modded firmware for dv-400 with MTKRemaker and replace Polish language with English, you previously saved.
Save Fw. That is it.

I just tried replacing the polish OSD with the english one from the original firmware.

I just installed it on my Region 1 DV-400 (originally firmware YGB7328 out of the box), and it seems to work fine. After activating Multiregion, I was able to play my Region 2 Doctor Who DVDs that I was not able to play before upgrading to the modified firmware. Region 1 discs play fine as well.

Thanks to Dinderi for providing the tools and information to make this possible! I can now free myself from the vapid American media available to me, and explore what else the world has to offer.

Hi!

I downloaded the new firmware (english version) and performed the firmware upgrade in my DV-400 (originaly Region 1), it was fine and I got the new beautiful startup screen with the dragon. After that I turned off thr player holding the ENTER key in the remote (to change to multiregion mode), but unfortunately it is not playing my region 4 DVDs (I am in Brazil). Does anyone know what I did wrong?

Thay may be encoded with that sort of region protection, that needs the player to be the same region number as DVD record. It means this will not play with region 0, as this is different than 4.

Sorry, it was my mistake!

I was holding Enter AND turning off the player... I tried just to hold Enter. It turned off the player and everything worked fine! It is playing my region 4 DVDs. Thanks for the help Dinderi!
