Problem: After upgrade player is asking for region setting, on screen is displayed REGION, no reaction on any button except stand by and eject, If tray ejected, player is working normally eg. menu is started etc.. Player even plays DVD, but no reactions on remote.
Player doesn't detect the FW anymore.
It seems to me, some factory setup is started to set region, but I have no means to do it. Can anybody help?

kjansik, can you build a cable like this shown here: http://www.pioneerfaq.inf...ion=Dead_Player
With this cable you can set the correct region. Probably somehow an eeprom memory has been corrupted during upgrade. The region can be also set using a Pioneer service remote, but I believe it's simpler for you to build that cable than to obtain the service remote. When you will have the cable, PM or email me and I'll send you a program which will fix this.

Some time ago I wrote instruction, what to do to set region with data cable.

I got NOKIA 7650 cable, I suppose it will work. I just need the confirmation, the procedure for PIONEER DV 400 will work. do you have any experience?

A week ago, I flashed my dv400 with Onkyo dvsp405e firmware and got Region Setup.
